The Bothersome Armpit Boils

Boils are naturally bothersome, but what if you have them in your armpit? Many people suffer from armpit boils which are not merely painful but may cause fever at times. Severe cases may even interfere with your daily activities.

Armpit boils may come in a wide variety and they may differ from each other depending on the nature of their development and location. Furthermore, they may crop up for wide array of reasons thus it is will help to know what factors trigger their occurrence as for you to have a means of solving the problem.

Most of the time, they occur due to the condition of folliculitis which is the occurrence of hair follicles that are infected by bacteria. It can take place in any part of the body that contains hair follicles. Nevertheless, hair follicle may create boils in cases where in the hair is exposed to friction because of frequent physical contact. There are also times wherein hair follicles are impregnated by foreign particles thus causing the spread of infection through the bacterium known as Staphylococcus aureus.

Another cause of armpit boils is too much sweating in the particular skin area. As everyone knows, the armpit is structured with a lot of sweat glands thus leading to sweating. Now, in case there is too much sweating in this area, there is the tendency for the duct that connects the hair follicle and the gland to be blocked by the residue left once the sweat dries up. This will lead to serious infection thus leading to unsightly and usually painful underarm boils. There are times when the boil become severe and this condition would occur repeatedly or become chronic. During such cases, the only solution is to eradicate the sweat glands by means of surgical treatments.

Furthermore, another reason is the chronic disease known as the hidradenitis suppurativa. Although the condition of recurrent boils is rare, once it occurs, it can prove to be very irritating. The development of Hidradenitis is observed by the development of different boils at one particular skin area. This is also believed to recurring naturally. The victim can complain of large pus filled with lots of lumps that can lead to excruciating pain and even high fever.

Because these kinds of boils are never easy to deal with, it is best to seek medical help a soon as possible, particularly during the onset of the problem.
